Your Path to Free, Compassionate Healthcare Starts Here

The Doctors’ Free Clinic of Citrus County provides free medical care to uninsured adults ages 18–64 who live in Citrus County. Our volunteer physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals are here to support you with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ages 18–64

  • Uninsured

  • Citrus County resident

  • Low income or no income

  • Must provide ID  

New Patients — Start Here

If you are new to the clinic:​

  1. Call 352‑212‑2365

  2. Bring ID and proof of address

  3. Arrive 15 minutes early

  4. Intake specialist will review eligibility

  5. You will be scheduled with a provider

What to Expect at Your Visit

 We want your first visit to feel comfortable, clear, and stress‑free. Here’s what you can expect when you arrive:

1. A Warm Welcome

Our volunteers will greet you, help you sign in, and answer any questions you may have.

2. Simple Check‑In Process

You’ll be asked for basic information such as:

  • Your name

  • Contact information

  • Any medications you take

  • Your reason for visiting

If it’s your first time, we’ll help you complete a short new‑patient form.

3. Intake & Vital Signs

A medical assistant or nurse will:

  • Take your vital signs

  • Ask about your symptoms

  • Review your medical history

  • Make sure you’re comfortable

 

 

 

4. Meeting With a Provider

A licensed medical provider will:

  • Listen to your concerns

  • Ask questions to understand your health needs

  • Perform an exam

  • Explain your diagnosis and treatment plan

  • Answer your questions

We encourage you to speak openly — we are here to help.

5. Follow‑Up & Support

Before you leave, we will:

  • Review your instructions

  • Provide any necessary paperwork

  • Help you plan follow‑up care

  • Connect you with community resources if needed

6. Compassionate, Confidential Care

Everything you share with us is private and protected. You will always be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness.
